Who is Barack Obama?

Researched & Written by Cel Eden
Edited by Andrew Middleton

Barack Hussien Obama is the current president of the United States of America. During his campaign for the Presidency, it was thought that he was a catalyst, a signal of changing times, as he was the first African-American candidate to be elected. When it was announced that he was to become the 44th president of the USA, there was a public outpouring of emotion screened on televisions around the world, celebrating the perceived step forward.

To become the President, the United States Constitution states candidates must be natural born citizens. Section 1 of Article 2 in the United States Constitution states, “No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.”

There have been several reports that bring into question [1], and lawyers demanding that Obama proves, where he was born, as the birth certificate he presented was obtained in Hawaii through the clause that only one family member needs to be a witness to claim a birth there. This is a hot topic because his grandmother in Kenya is on record as saying he was born there and she was in the delivery room. [2] There are also several pictures in existence showing his visits there over a period of time. If Obama was born in Kenya, it would make his rise to the presidency one that broke the Constitutional laws of the United States and therefore void his position.

While being sworn in as an attorney of Illinois, Obama stated he had never been known under any other names. However, there is factual evidence that he attended Fransiskus Assisi School in Jakarta, Indonesia, as “Barry Soetoro.” [3] This fact has been conveniently and constantly left out by the mainstream media up until recently when a report surfaced that his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, had ties with the CIA and suggested Obama’s rise to power may have been manufactured. [4]

Certain policies and decisions he has made in his term as President have been controversial and made headlines around the world. Some of these include: an Executive-ordered internet ‘killswitch’ [5], declaring the H1N1 virus a ‘national emergency’ – which violated parts of the Constitution [6] and saw him able to force people to take a flu vaccine at gunpoint if he felt it necessary – and the fact he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize within months of deciding to send a 40,000 strong contingent of soldiers to Iraq over 2010 [7].

Many Australians may ask what Obama’s Soetoro’s constitutional ineligibility & agenda has to do with our country. The United States of America seems to dictate policies to the rest of the world through its agenda and Australia traditionally – but particularly since 9/11 – been quick to align itself with that dictation and rarely question it. For evidence of this, we can look at the agendas of Australian & USA Governments since 2001 and find similarities in the “War on Terror” (including Afghanistan, Iraq, and defence/intelligence agreements), the aforementioned push to vaccinate entire populations in response to the swine flu “pandemic,” the push for a price on carbon emissions, the nationalising of healthcare systems, and general attitudes towards other countries, just to name a few. With so many of these issues commonly arising in national politics World-wide, it is important to know who the leaders around the World really are, and not just accept what we are told about them.

Latest Ground Zero deal offers 9/11 First Responders $712.5 million

From: infowars.com

By Jerry Mazza

Lawyers for the city and for 10,000 plus plaintiffs, i.e. the cleanup and rescue men and women who worked Ground zero, announced on June 10, 2010 that they had negotiated a new settlement, providing more compensation for health damages and to lower legal fees for services, down from 33.33 percent to a maximum of 25 percent, as per the New York Times, one quarter of the awards still a healthy handful, about $178.5 million.

Judge Hellerstein, who had rejected payouts between $575 to 657.5 million as settlement in March as too little, is now accepting $712.5 million. Okay, if you have a calculator that comes to $37 million more. Divided by 10,000 workers, that yields $3700 more per person. The average, per capita award comes to $71,250. Of course, each worker’s actual award would be determined by the extent of his or her illness, medical and prescription fees, and I would imagine family size. I don’t want to look a gift horse in the mouth, but would each award be better “enough” for each worker? Well, each worker will have to decide that by September 30, 2010. 95 percent agreement is required for benefits to begin.

By comparison, the Victim’s Compensation Fund, whose awards went to family members of 2800 victims, ranged from $400,000 to $2 million for their lost loved one, a total of $7.049 billion dollars. The awards factored in whether the victim was married or not, with children or not, age, number of working years left, salary level, and so on.

It was a cold-hearted way perhaps to evaluate lost ones, but generous in comparison to the awards for lives lost or seriously affected in ‘the second round of slaughter’, those with chronic, life-threatening conditions. This is not to belittle the 9/11 victims’ families for their awards, or the sacrifice made by their loved ones lost, just to point out a disparity.

The man who ran the VCF, “Special Master” Kenneth Feinberg, originally appointed by former Department of Justice chief John Ashcroft, was on NY1 TV a couple days ago, telling the workers that if they accepted the deal, why he’d have checks in the mail in two weeks. By the way, the proviso for receiving any VCT award was promising not to sue the government, making it a kind of hush money.

Feinberg’s colleague Judge Hellerstein has seen to it that in all these years no family (to my knowledge to date) has received a trial, even if they didn’t want to take the money. Instead, victim families were encouraged “to move on” and stow the cash.

Mrs. Ellen Mariani, who wanted a trial for her husband Neil, lost on UA F 175, and who brought two suits against the government, had her suits dismissed because their trials she was told would “endanger national security,” which sounds more like an attempt to cover up any wrong doing on the government’s part. In fact, she’s still waiting a trial or financial reward. Both she and her lawyer are under gag orders not to speak. Remember her if you will in your prayers if nothing else.

Also, the Airline Transportation Safety Act (ATSA) actually paid out a total of $15 billion to the airlines in loans and cash for losses sustained in their businesses, though the airline bigs we know will never go hungry. Not like working people with more bills than they have assets.

Unfortunately, the GZ workers, these men, these women, who worked in the pit, et al, had to sue the city and its contractors six years ago for the grave illnesses they had suffered, including cancers, respiratory and glandular diseases. These were a result, in part, of not having been given respirators to protect them against the deadly chemicals in the air, earth and debris, nor having proper supervision about protecting themselves. They were walking around with or without paper nose-mouth masks.

One major reason for that was that both the EPA and FEMA had said that the Ground Zero site and surrounding environment they were working in was safe, when in fact it was loaded with a cocktail of deadly chemicals, as follows…

“Over 400 tons of asbestos, which once inhaled in any quantity cannot be expelled by the lungs

“90,000 liters of jet fuel containing benzene, a carcinogen that suppresses the immune system and causes leukemia

“Mercury from over 500,000 fluorescent lights that is toxic to the nervous system, and damaging especially to the kidneys

“200,000 pounds of lead and cadmium from personal computers, toxic to the respiratory track, especially damaging to kidneys

“Polycystic aromatic hydrocarbons that cause lung, laryngeal and throat cancers

“130,000 gallons of transformer oil with PCBs, causing serious skin rashes and liver damage

“Crystalline Silica from 420,000 tons of concrete, sheetrock and glass (tiny particulates that lodge in heart, causing ischemic heart disease),” and so on…

The facts and more come from film-maker Heidi Dehncke-Fisher’s landmark documentary Dust to Dust: the health effects of 9/11. I reviewed this affecting, truth-telling film in a piece called 911’s second round of slaughter. And that’s exactly what it was.

To follow the lives of EMS workers, firemen, police, volunteers, as Dehncke does, to see the slow ebbing of strength and will to live in fearless men and women, to see them morph into weary, despairing people, fighting with insurance companies for monies for life-sustaining medications and/or hospital care, is heart-breaking. Consider that for the survivors to this date. They still face on-going, life-threatening conditions, with new symptoms surfacing from time to time.

For instance, the Philadelphia Inquirer recently ran a story, 9/11 responders now suffering loss of smell. Its subhead read, “Chronic condition represents a ‘breakdown in the body’s defense against toxic substances’”

It told about paramedic “Mike Greene, who at first thought it might just be a bad allergy.

“But when his sense of smell didn’t come back for months, the paramedic suspected it was caused by polluted air he’d breathed at the most harrowing job site of his career: the wreckage of the World Trade Center.

“Turns out he is not alone.

“A significant portion of those on duty at the twin towers suffered long-term damage to their sense of smell and their ability to detect harmful irritants through the nose, Philadelphia researchers reported in a new study last week.

“Far from being just an inconvenience, this chronic condition represents a breakdown in the body’s defense against toxic substances, said lead author Pamela Dalton, an experimental psychologist at the Monell Chemical Senses Center.

“In a sample of 102 workers in construction, emergency services, and other fields, 22 percent had an impaired sense of smell more than two years after exposure at the twin towers site, and 74 percent had a reduced ability to detect irritants. That ability is separate from the sense of smell, and is illustrated by the burning sensation you get from say, the noxious fumes in a bottle of bleach.”

Now this is going on nine years later. What does tomorrow bring for these men and women who gave selflessly, working under furious pressure from Mayor Rudy Giuliani to work night and day to get what was America’s worst ever crime scene scrubbed clean in eight months, not the two and a half years he had to do it. And to help America’s mayor get his brownie points for destroying the evidence, and in the process helping to destroy the lives and health of these heroes.

Another recent loss: On May 15, 2010, Robert Oswain of the New York Police Department died from cancer, after serving in recovery efforts at the wrecked World Trade Center. If you want a taste of it, read Christopher Bollyn’s powerful article complete with photographs of what Robert and his 10,000 brothers and sisters went through.

The opening paragraphs tell us, “Robert Oswain, a police officer with the New York Police Department (NYPD), died from cancer on May 15, 2010. Oswain, a Bronx cop who served in recovery efforts at the destroyed World Trade Center, died of cancer late Saturday. He was 42 years old.

“Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly commended Oswain, who had recently married, for his ‘valiant struggle’ against the disease. Oswain’s family and NYPD brothers believe Ground Zero’s toxic dust caused the cancer that claimed his life, the Daily News reported.

“Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (NYC PBA) President Patrick Lynch called Oswain ‘one of the forgotten heroes of 9/11’ – and warned that the true cost in lives from the attacks won’t be known for decades. The NYC PBA has a webpage devoted to Oswain in which he described what he did at the World Trade Center in the aftermath…” Check out this story for a bitter taste of what it was really like.

Bottom line, brothers, sisters, you who have suffered and suffer still, I ask you to think clearly if this settlement is what you want, if it truly protects you, and if this is what you and your families can live with? Because once you sign on the dotted line, it’s over.

What’s more, as mentioned earlier, 95 percent of you have to approve this offer by September 30 for it to take effect. I’m not saying do or don’t sign. I’m saying think it out clearly. Don’t be pressured. Stick together. Remember your lawyers are still getting a healthy cut. Search you conscience and make up your own mind what’s best for you. Good luck, bless you all. You are the best of people.

WeAreChange Los Angeles Organiser faces Terrorism Charge

From: http://wearechange.org

By Luke Rudkowski

Your support is needed at wacla.org: free-bruno.org

WeAreChangeLA’s lead organizer Bruno Bruhwiler is being targeted as a terrorist threat. It all began when Bruno was sitting in the audience at a civil hearing for another WACLA member. The Judge literally did not like Bruno’s involuntary facial expressions, and ordered him out of the courtroom.

He was detained in the hall after asking to see the officers’ ID cards before he left the building. They are required according to their own manual to provide ID upon request, but apparently don’t like to be asked for it. When the supervising officer ordered Bruno to turn around and put his hands behind his back, Bruno instantly turned around and put his hands behind his back with absolutely no resistance.

At first he was supposedly being detained for trespassing (which is a misdemeanor) but of course, you can’t trespass on public property so then they dropped trespassing and told him he was being detained for a public disturbance. About an hour later, when the supervisor actually placed Bruno under arrest, the original charge was changed to misdemeanor contempt of court. None of the witnesses present heard the judge mention anything about contempt when asking him to leave.

Two felony resisting arrest charges were then tacked on, which means Bruno is charged with physically resisting the officers – twice? – though witnesses observed that Bruno did not ever resist the officers. The arresting supervising officer claimed that Bruno threatened to assassinate him, then the same officer ordered an underling to back up his claim as a false witness and charged Bruno with making a “terrorist” threat.  After 911, legislation was passed making it very easy to charge ordinary citizens as “terrorists” for almost any reason.

They are calling him a potential cop killer. We are talking about Bruno, a man who raises money for 9/11 First Responders and the Fealgood Foundation. He’s also a member of So Cal Oath Keepers and the initiator of “Talk to a cop Wednesdays,” an outreach effort to befriend and educate law enforcement throughout Los Angeles. We are talking about a man committed to non-violent change, peace and social justice. Yes THAT Bruno.

While in custody, at another location for incarceration, Bruno was asked by an officer if he was the lead organizer of WeAreChangeLA, and the officer asked with a snide tone if Bruno had a website, with other officers looking on. Either they did some quick research on him or they recognized Bruno from some other way, but they knew he was the lead organizer of WeAreChangeLA. The mention of WeAreChangeLA made it abundantly clear that Bruno is being targeted for who he is.

This is about all of us. This is about freedom. The struggle for Bruno’s freedom is a microcosm of what is happening all across the United States. We cannot allow WeAreChange leaders to be labeled and targeted as terrorists. It can easily be ascertained that Bruno is being railroaded through procedures.

Friends of Bruno and the WeAreChange family are literally spending their life savings fighting in Bruno’s defense. We know this is a total inconvenience for all of us, but Bruno and WeAreChangeLA are out there in the streets in a big way every chance they can to help make people aware of all the lies and injustices that are being used to steal our rights, our freedoms, and our future, including the biggest lie of them all, the official story of 9-11. We don’t intend to ever stop reaching out, so please help us defend liberty and freedom by donating ANY amount you can spare. It’s easy, just go to wacla.org and click “CHIP-IN” at the top of the page. Our site has also recently been hacked multiple times but the “CHIP-IN” is still functional. Luckily we have devoted 9-11 Truth web experts working diligently to keep the website clean and up and running. Please step up. This is a very serious, and we need your help!  We have strength in numbers. Let’s make our presence known. Thank you so much and love to you all.

Senator Ludlam: “The time for Australians to stand up is right now, and we are standing up.”

This article originally posted at Stop the Filter.org.
By Andrew Middleton, House of Representatives Petition Coordinator

Greens Senator Scott Ludlam (pictured, image credit: David Howe) has given a conclusive rebuttal to comments made by the Labor Government’s Communications Minister Stephen Conroy on the Four Corners documentary, Access Denied, aired on the 10th of May, 2010. The documentary, still viewable online at ABC iView, reveals how an apparently well meaning attempt by [the Australian] government to protect children from video nasties on the net turned into a policy that critics say promotes censorship and reduces personal freedom.

During the documentary, the Communications Minister has the following pledge to the Australian public:

“If a majority of the Parliament in the future want to broaden the classification – meaning of material caught by the filter – well then, Australians should stand up and say ‘just a minute’, and I’ll be one of them.”

To which Senator Ludlam quoted and responded to, just two days later in the Senate:

“Of course, by that time it will be too late. That is the future of this filter: a majority of a future parliament, probably under pressure of some kind of moral panic-whatever that may be-broadening the filter to include a larger scope of banned material and Stephen Conroy standing there in the minority, saying, ‘Just a minute,’ shortly before losing the vote. Once the architecture is in place, the idea that future governments will not be tempted to expand its scope is impossible to entertain. The reasons are technical, as well as political.”

(Senator Ludlam’s full statement in the Senate can be read in transcript, or viewed as film)

This is an important distinction made by Senator Ludlam in why he opposes the mandatory ISP filtering plan, and it’s one that all reading this should consider carefully. Later in the Parliamentary statement, the Senator had this important message relating to Mr. Conroy’s pledge, which is worth emphasising:

“In terms of the minister’s comments about people standing up and saying no if future governments proposed to increase the scope, and saying that that would be the time for Australians to stand up: the time for Australians to stand up is right now, and we are standing up.

Scott Ludlam has good authority to speak as an Australian standing up on the issue of the Labor Govnerment’s mandatory web filtering proposal, having attended and spoke at both the December 2008 and March 2010 rallys held in Perth which were aimed at informing the public and expressing opposition to the proposal. Scott also regularly asks questions and makes statements in Parliamentary Question Time and Senate Hearing about the matter, along with making public statements on his blog and taking media interviews, as he happened to yesterday on the ABC’s Triple J program Hack.

Scott’s message to Australians in his May 12 Senate statement pre-empted the May 22nd National Day of Action, which occured in 3 locations around Australia on both sides of the continent. The campaign for these Days of Action were driven by the official anti-censorship paper petition addressed to the House of Representatives, which now has around 6500-7000 signatures penned in total with 4400 already received by Principal Petitioner Melissa Short. It will be presented to the House of Representatives and put on the public Hansard record on the 21st of June, 2010 with the  Australian Petitions Committee accepting signatures no later than the 11th of June, 2010. With this recent extended submission deadline, the decision has been made to ask concerned and active Australians to continue gathering signatures, and for them to be mailed to Melissa no later than Tuesday, the 8th of June. The earlier sent the better, so they can be checked & counted before submission.

Review of the May 22nd Day of Action

BRISBANE

The Brisbane Day of Action was the most successful from the day in terms of petition signatures, with a massive 461 signatures acquired in just 3 hours. The Sunshine State delivered a beautiful day for Mel Short, Matt Anderson, Tim Hunt, Gregor, Ben, Eris, Fritz, Shonika, & Warrick to setup tables, petitions, and paraphenalia at Central Station, Brisbane, and ask the public passing by if they’re aware of the Government’s proposal, and if they’d like to sign the petition. The last person mentioned in that list, Warrick Fraser, edited the following video from the Day of Action in Brisbane and many thanks to him for doing so:

Warrick was also good enough to take some photos on the day too. Here he is on the video camera:

Table setup with petitions and information sheets:

Josh Meney’s “Censor This!” poster displayed:

A big thanks must also go to Matt Anderson for funding the printed poster and the table, and generally putting in a big effort in organising and promoting the Event.

MELBOURNE

In Federation Square, Melbourne, a fascinating piece of street theatre was carried out by Nicolas Wheeler:

Nicolas was shortly asked to move on by the Victorian State police and did so, but this photograph is testament to a statement made about the inevitable possibility of legal freedoms being reduced under the mandatory ISP filter. There is video footage of the moving on of the display and attempted interview with Nic by media crew below. Afterwards, Nicolas was joined by other activists to gain petition signatures, and in all nearly 200 were gathered. A super effort and many thanks, Nick and co.!

PERTH

Despite the inclement weather overnight leading into the Saturday, Petition Coordinator Andrew Middleton, Julian, and Daniel Kruppa still managed to find a couple of hours in the afternoon to campaign for petition signatures out the front of Fremantle Town Hall. 37 signatures were garnered from the sparse Fremantle crowd, with many viabrant conversations being had with people from all walks of life. Those who were aware of the issue, had a good understanding of the problems associated with the proposed mandatory ISP filtering plan which was pleasing. In particular, an exchange with an English tourist, who despite not caring what happened in this country, was eventually turned around to signing the petition after agreeing with us that what occurs in our political landscape is highly likely to effect England’s political landscape, and vice-versa.

Next two Saturday’s complete Trifecta of Days of Action

In keeping with Scott Ludlam’s urgings for Australians to stand up, locations this Saturday and next Saturday (May 29th, June 5th) around Australia will again have grassroots activists present with petitions in hand, and the more people & signatures the better. So if you’re interested in just coming down and signing the petition, joining a posted location below and help get more signatures, or starting an Action in your local area that you’d like promoting on this website and/or on social networking sites, please take note of the location details posted below and get in contact with the following organisers!

Paul/Grayson Amendment based on HR1207 passed in the US Financial Services Committee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ron Paul (TX-14) is pleased to announce that his and Congressman Grayson’s amendment based on HR 1207 has passed in the Financial Services Committee by a vote of 43-26 and will be included in major banking reform legislation.

The Paul/Grayson amendment:

  • Removes the blanket restrictions on GAO audits of the Fed
  • Allows audit of every item on the Fed’s balance sheet, all credit facilities, all securities purchase programs, etc.
  • Retains limited audit exemption on unreleased transcripts and minutes
  • Sets 180-day time lag before details of Fed’s market actions may be released
  • States that nothing in the amendment shall be construed as interference in or dictation of monetary policy by Congress or the GAO

“While HR 3996, if passed, will grant sweeping new powers to the Federal Reserve, at least with this amendment attached, it won’t be acting in secret anymore. This is a major victory for Federal Reserve transparency and government accountability,” stated Congressman Paul.
